A recent lesson

Not long ago, a mother visiting Japan came to us with her daughter, who was preparing for an international ballet competition. Her goal was not to be styled for — it was to learn to recreate a competition-ready look herself, back home and on the day.

Over one afternoon, our instructor:

• analyzed the dancer’s face shape and hair type, and demonstrated a sleek competition bun on her own hair;
• guided the mother through hands-on practice (first on a wig, then on her daughter);
• demonstrated stage makeup and coached the mother as she practiced it herself.

Everything was interpreted in English, so nothing was lost along the way. Afterward, one guest shared:

先日、海外から来日されたお母様が、国際的なバレエコンクールに出場予定の娘さんと一緒に来店されました。ご希望は「施術してもらう」ことではなく、お母様自身が本番のヘアメイクを再現できるようになること。午後の時間で、講師が娘さんの顔型・髪質を分析して本番向けのタイトなシニヨンを実演し、お母様がウィッグ→娘さんの髪と段階的に練習、さらに舞台メイクを実演・指導しました。進行はすべて英語通訳つきです。
